The correct way to care for acne patches

Pimple patches are the secret weapon of the modern skincare world, especially on those days when you stay up late on the weekend and wake up to a face full of pimples in the mirror on Monday. It is thin and transparent, like an invisible shield, which not only provides isolation for acne but also helps to reduce acne and cover blemishes.

The principle behind the acne patch is that it uses a special hydrophilic hydrocolloid design. When you apply it, it will form a closed environment with the acne, absorb tissue fluid, and keep the acne moist, thereby accelerating the skin's healing process. At the same time, it acts like a barrier, effectively blocking external cosmetics, bacteria, dust, and other pollutants, and protecting the wound from secondary damage.

There are roughly two types of acne patches on the market: medicated and non-medicated. Medicated acne patches are added with anti-acne ingredients such as salicylic acid and benzene peroxide, which have anti-acne and antibacterial effects. The non-medicated version is more like a Band-Aid, which only serves to isolate and protect.

However, acne patches are not a panacea. It mainly targets open acne, such as pustular type. For other types of acne, such as pimples, cysts, etc., inflammation may be increased due to their occlusive nature.

Correct care steps:

Step 1: Cleaning: When using acne patches, first make sure the skin around the acne is thoroughly clean and dry.

Second step of disinfection: Use a cotton swab dipped in disinfectant or saline to clean the acne to ensure there is no infection. Then, gently remove the acne patch and align it with the acne patch, making sure it is snug but not too tight.

Step 3: Apply the acne patch: Accurately apply the acne patch to the center of the acne. Then, press gently for 3 to 5 seconds to ensure that the acne patch is firmly attached to the skin.

Step 4: Replace the acne patch: When you find that the acne patch has absorbed enough tissue fluid and reached a saturated state, be sure to replace it with a new acne patch immediately. Timely replacement helps maintain a clean environment for acne and promotes the healing of acne.
