Advantages, indications and precautions of hydrocolloid dressings

Description of hydrocolloid dressing:
The hydrocolloid dressing adopts the principle of wet healing. The CMC particles in the hydrocolloid dressing are in contact with the wound exudate to form a moist gel on the wound surface, continuously creating a moist environment without adhesion to the wound surface.

 product advantages:
1. The hydrocolloid dressing is light, thin, transparent, close to skin color, and easier to observe the wound.
2. The unique design of the hydrocolloid dressing is thick in the middle and thin in the periphery, which effectively enhances the adhesive performance while ensuring high absorption rate of wound exudate.
3. The gel produced after the hydrocolloid dressing absorbs wound exudate, so that there is no residue on the wound surface when the hydrocolloid dressing is peeled off, and the pain is alleviated. Avoid secondary damage to the wound when the dressing is peeled off.
4. Excellent performance in absorbing wound exudate, large absorption capacity and fast absorption speed.
5. The hydrocolloid dressing has strong adhesive performance, simple operation, convenient, comfortable and soft, and can be used on all parts of the body.
6. Speed up wound healing, save costs, and reduce the labor intensity of medical staff.
7. Humanized design, complete specifications and many styles of products. Any specifications can be customized according to customer needs, providing more choices for clinical use.

 Product indications:
1. Prevention and treatment of bedsores at stage I and II.
2. Treatment of burns and plastic donor sites.
3. Treatment of various superficial and external wounds and plastic cosmetic wounds.
4. Chronic wound epithelialization period
5. Prevention and treatment of phlebitis.

Precautions for use:
1. Before use, the wound should be thoroughly cleaned and the skin on the wound edge should be wiped dry.
2. Choose a hydrocolloid dressing about 2cm wider than the wound edge to ensure sufficient adhesion to the skin.
3. If the depth of the wound exceeds 5mm, you should first fill the cavity with a suitable material before using the hydrocolloid dressing. Not suitable for wounds with large amounts of exudate.
4. It is normal for the dressing to swell up and become whitish after absorbing and swelling. When the absorption is saturated, it is prompted to change the dressing.
5. In the early stage of using hydrocolloid dressings, sometimes it may be found that the wound area has enlarged instead. This is caused by the cleaning of the dressing, which is a normal phenomenon.
6. In use, the hydrocolloid molecules fuse with the exudate to form a gel, which sometimes looks like purulent secretions, so it is mistaken for wound infection. At this time, rinse with normal saline.
7. The use of hydrocolloid dressings sometimes produces a certain odor, and the odor disappears after washing the wound with saline.
8. If there is leakage around the paste, please change the dressing immediately.

Dressing replacement:
1. It is normal for the hydrocolloid dressing to swell and whitish after absorbing wound exudate, and the dressing needs to be replaced when the absorption is saturated.
2. According to the actual clinical situation, the dressing is usually changed in 2-5 days.
