How do hydrogel dressing promote wound healing?

Trauma and trauma infection is common and frequently-occurring diseases in the hospital. Medical dressings can reduce the probability of wound infection and help the wound surface to heal faster. Traditional medical dressings such as gauze, bandages, etc. can provide a certain degree of protection, but it is easy to cause secondary damage in the use process and has shortcomings such as single performance, poor absorption, and weak antibacterial ability. During use, frequent dressing changes are not only Not conducive to wound repair but also increase the workload of medical staff. For wound treatment, Innomed® hydrogel can help you better. It is a new type of wound dressing composed of water-absorbing molecular gel with high water content. It can maintain the moist environment of the wound and promote epidermal cells. It can also prevent bacterial infection more effectively.

What are the factors that affect wound healing?

The most common factors affecting wound healing are bacterial blooms and subsequent infection. In the early stage, when the wound is exposed to bacteria, bacterial proliferation is relatively low, which will not cause wound infection or hinder wound healing. However, when the number of bacteria exceeds a certain threshold, the body cannot remove too many bacteria, resulting in wound infection. In wound healing, wound dressings have played a significant role in protecting the body.

How to promote wound healing?

When the skin is damaged, the epidermal tissue of the wound will also be severely damaged. The healing of the injury is a continuous process, including a series of biochemical reactions, and it mainly goes through four stages: homeostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and maturation. Hydrogels can help wound healing by:

1. Provide the best conditions for wound healing: wound healing requires a specific environment. A humid climate is better for cell growth and autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue.

2. Block the invasion of microorganisms: The moist hydrogel acts as a protective barrier for wounds, which can block the attack of bacteria to a certain extent.

3. Completely transparent, you can observe the healing of the wound more directly.

4. Comfortable and soft, good fit, no adhesion to the wound, and can relieve the pain of the damage to a certain extent.

5. The dressing has a high water content, which keeps the wound moist and effectively avoids dry necrosis of the wound tissue.

How to choose a hydrogel?

Sheet-like hydrogels: only suitable for wounds with less exudate, such as the late granulation and epithelial stages of wound healing, and can be used for superficial and partial cortical wounds, including abrasions, blisters, donor sites, thermal burns, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical procedures, and skin tears are also suitable for fragile skin and elderly patients.

Hydrogel Tubular: Amorphous is more convenient, very effective in softening hard eschar, and can effectively enhance autolytic debridement.
