How are baby scars treated?

A baby's skin is very delicate and can be easily irritated and damaged. When a baby is injured, it can leave scars that affect both appearance and mental health. Here's how to deal with baby scars.

Properties of baby skin:

1. The skin layer is very thin: the epidermis and dermis of the baby's skin are thinner than that of the adult skin, only about one-third of the adult skin, so it is more tender and fragile. This also makes the baby's skin more vulnerable to external stimuli and damage.

2. Sensitive skin: The pH of the baby's skin is low. Babies' skin typically has a pH below 5.5, which is more acidic than adult skin. This is because the stratum corneum of the baby's skin is thinner and has a weaker ability to resist external bacteria, so it needs a certain acidic environment to protect the skin.

3. Incomplete development: The pores and sweat glands of the baby's skin are not fully developed. The pores and sweat glands of the baby's skin have not yet fully developed, so the baby is not easy to sweat, and it is not easy to excrete waste and toxins in the body. This also makes the baby's skin more susceptible to the external environment.

4. Poor safety and defense: The immune system of the baby's skin has not yet fully developed. The immune system of a baby's skin is not yet fully developed, making it vulnerable to bacterial, viral, and fungal infections. This also makes the baby's skin more prone to skin diseases such as dermatitis and eczema.

What to do when your baby's skin is damaged?

It is important to be gentle and gentle when dealing with wounds in infants and young children. When the baby is injured, the wound should be cleaned in time, and a colorless, alcohol-free disinfectant should be selected. And wipe the wound with a clean cotton ball.

It can provide the wound with a slightly acidic airtight space that is conducive to wound healing, accelerate wound healing, and reduce the invasion of foreign microorganisms. If the wound is Deeper or larger area, should seek medical treatment in time.

2. After the wound is healed, it can be observed that the surrounding skin is not red and swollen. You can use Silicone Scar Dressing to apply it to the wound. Its main mechanism of scar reduction is that the high-purity medical silicone component inhibits the proliferation of fibroblasts and capillaries, thereby preventing scars from Fading in color. The dressing is also comfortable on the affected area, making it suitable for active children.

Baby wound treatment needs attention:

1. Babies under one month should avoid using iodized disinfectant, and babies under 30 months should use it with caution.

2. Flush with normal saline or hot water, which is rich in trace elements and less aggressive than tap water.

3. Pay attention to the gentle technique when changing the dressing to avoid the risk of secondary damage to the wound.

4. Avoid friction and sun exposure.

5. Avoid wearing tight clothes, using irritating cosmetics and toiletries, etc.
