Usage and precautions of medical tape

Breathable tape is a method of medical hygiene treatment. It is mainly used for fixing wounds, fixing medicines, and wound decoration materials. The medical breathable tape is non-allergic, non-toxic, no side effects, good air permeability, non-staining of the skin, and durable in stickiness. Now there are many applications in medical clinical work. Medical breathable tape has changed the defects of traditional zinc oxide plaster, such as easy allergy and poor air permeability.

To use the breathable tape correctly, you need to know the following five things:

1. Clean and disinfect the skin before use, and wait for a while for monotony.

2. For smooth attachment, apply the tape from the center to the outside without tension. In order to make the tape stick to the dressing firmly, it should be at least 2.5CM against the skin along the edge of the dressing.

3. Press back and forth on the tape to exert the maximum effect of the adhesive.

4. When removing, loosen each end of the tape, and gradually lift the entire width of the tape toward the wound to reduce the dehiscence of the healing tissue.

5. When removing tape from hairy areas, it should be peeled off in the direction of hair growth. When using the breathable tape, be sure to pay attention to the following:
(1) Do not apply it directly to the damaged skin.
