Shropshire resolves to install ostomy bag replacement facilities in public toilets

March 1, 2022 According to the news.
At a council meeting in Shropshire, England, MPs unanimously backed a proposed move to install ostomy bag change facilities in all public toilets. The plan will include about 42 toilets, including a leisure centre, library and museum.
St Oswald City Councillor Joyce Barrow, who made the proposal, said: "The simple things recommended by British colostomy can make a huge difference to their members. Changes to toilets are also cheap. The facilities that will be installed in each toilet include a shelf, two cloth hooks and a sanitary bucket. These are not expensive, but will keep ostomists in desperate need of replacement equipment out of the world."
Other MPs seconded that "vital facilities" would make life easier for people with ostomy bags, a move that would have a "huge impact" on the ostomy patients.
